(1) Junior Scientific Officer: UPSC Advt No 06/2019 

Name of Post: Junior Scientific Officer (Chemistry) Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Ministry of Home Affairs(UR-01)

Pay Scale: Level-7 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted Non- Ministerial. 


Age: 30 years

Education Qualification And Experience Of UPSC Advt No 07/2019: 

  • Education Qualification: Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in Analytical method and research in the field of Chemistry. NOTE: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. 


Nature Of Duties:Crime Scene Management, Crime Case Examination, giving evidences in the Courts of Law u/s 293 of Cr.PC, providing guidance to the junior scientific staff for case analysis, R&D activities on Forensic Activities and imparting training in their respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations. HQ: New Delhi with Laboratories at Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Guwahati & Pune. In connection with performing his duties, the officer may be required to serve in any part of
India. 


The post is suitable for Physically Challenged Persons viz. Deaf/Hard of Hearing Cat.-(b) / Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy/Leprosy Cured/Dwarfism/ Acid Attack Victims and Muscular Dystrophy Cat.-(c) with disability i.e. Hard of Hearing (HH) or One leg affected (R or L) (OL). 




(2) Scientist ‘B’ (Biology): UPSC Advt No 06/2019

Post Name: Scientist ‘B’ (Biology), Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Ministry of Home Affairs(UR-01)

Pay Scale: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. General Central Service, Group `A’, Gazetted NonMinisterial. 

Age: 35 years

Education Qualification And Experience Of UPSC Advt No 07/2019: 
  • Education Qualification: Master’s Degree in Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Physical Anthropology/ Forensic Science/ Genetics with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University. 
  • Experience: Three years experience of analytical methods and research therein in the field of Biotechnology / Molecular Biology/working in DNA Laboratory in any  Central Government or State Government organization or recognized research institute or Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government. 
  • NOTE: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. 
  • DESIRABLE: Experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory. 

Nature Of Duties: Crime Scene Management, Crime Case Examination, bestow expert testimony/de’ facto in the courts of law on subject matter under the provision of Cr.P.C. and Indian Evidence Act/Information Technology Act, R&D activities on Forensic Activities and imparting training in their respective fields of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations.

  • Experience: Three years experience of analytical methods and research therein in the field of Explosive in any Central Government or State Government organization or recognized research institute or Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government. 
  • NOTE: Qualification is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, in the case of candidates, otherwise well qualified. 
  • DESIRABLE: Experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory.

  • Education Qualification: (A) Master’s Degree in Chemistry/AIC by examination/ Biochemistry / Pharmacology / Pharmacy / Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University. 
  • Experience: Three years experience of analytical methods and research therein in the field of Toxicology in any Central Government or State Government organization or recognized research institute or Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government.

Age: 30 years. 

Education Qualification And Experience Of UPSC Advt No 07/2019: 

  • Education Qualification: Master's Degree in Commerce or Social Welfare or Social Work or Economics or Statistics or Psychology or Education of a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Experience: (i) Two Years Experience of socio-economic investigation or research preferably in relation to demography employment and unemployment or manpower problems. (ii) Knowledge of employment service work. 
  • NOTE:  I Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. 
  • NOTE: II The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite  experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
